More Three Week Pictures

Today was a busy day for the puppies! They all had a bath this morning and this afternoon someone came by to pick which puppy they wanted. Then we took pictures later this afternoon, so here they are!

I usually try to write about their personalities, but they really aren't mature enough yet to see what the personalities are like so maybe we can accomplish that next week :)

Here are some updated pictures that were taken this evening. My sister Ruthie took most of them - I was thankful for her diligence and persistence ... photographing ten puppies isn't always the easiest task!

I apologize for the delay in getting more pictures posted. The puppies eyes are just opening and some are still in the process! This isn't the best age for pictures, but I wanted to let you all see how they are growing. We picked chocolate company names for them :)

I know that some of these pictures are not particularly flattering of the puppies but like I mentioned, their eyes are still in the process of opening and they are just starting to move around. We will try to get some more photos in the first part of next week. Some of the chocolates are reserved but have not been picked yet. Jasmine's Puppies Are Here!

Jasmine had her litter on January 18th. There are eight chocolates - three females and five males ... and two blacks - one male and one female. The puppies are doing very well and Jasmine is a great mother. Here are a few pictures that were taken today ... we will post more as the puppies get older.

We only have one puppy left! Shawnee went to her new family here in Tennessee on Sunday. Sioux and Gerta flew to California on Monday and are settling in with their new family. Yakima went home to Georgia yesterday ... the man that bought her is a friend of someone who bought a puppy out of Chaya's litter that was born two years ago. We got to see that "puppy" yesterday, although he isn't a puppy anymore! Diesel is two years old and taller than both of his parents (Chaya and Boaz). We were really happy to see him :)

Cherokee is still available. She is such a precious puppy with an affectionate personality. Here are some pictures that were taken last night.

These puppies are growing up fast! They are so active and playful now and when I go out to the pen to check on them, they all come running to meet me :)

Almost 5 weeks Update

The puppies have now been to the vet. To our great suprise, our boys (Canada and El Salvador) were actually only 4.6 pounds! They are the smallest but to not look or act it!

Indian Labradors (Pictures of Chaya's litter)!

I decided on the name theme for this litter of puppies ... Indian/Native American tribes :)

All of the puppies are doing well. We took some photos of them the other day, but it was a long process and we do not have good individual shots of all the puppies. I will share a few here and hopefully we can get some more soon. This is a difficult age to photograph and on top of that, the lighting is a challenge! We often cannot see the puppies' eyes in the pictures that we take ... I guess that is the one disadvantage to having black puppies :)

Lucy's Puppies 3 weeks Old!

What a change we saw when my family arrived home from camping. The puppies had changed from little piles of fur to cute, chubby, open eyed puppies, learning how to get about. It is still hard to tell much difference in their personalities, they do not play a whole lot yet, but are all precious. I love snuggling them!

We have given the pups temporary names. In all these pictures of the males, the largest is on the right, his name is Canada. On the left is El Salvador.

This is Big Boy and Big Big Boy!

We have 5 females. Their names are Switzerland, Israel, England, Australia and Poland.

This is Switzerland, her color is much darker then the rest.

Israel is by far the whitest.

Isn't she beautiful?

England's coat is just a light yellow.

She did not feel very much energy at the moment.

Poland is basically the same color.

Australia is just a little bit darker than the last two.

Altogether they are adorable!

Chaya's Puppies Are Here!

Chaya had a litter of beautiful puppies on Friday, October 7th. All of the puppies are black! There are eight females and two males :) Uzzi is the father.

Our Yellow Puppies!

Lucy Has Puppies!!!

We have puppies again! There are 5 females and 2 males. All of them are quite big and all but one, take after their father and have a yellow coat. The pups are active and seem to be very healthy basking in a life of drinking their mama's milk and sleeping. We are now taking deposits to reserve the pups so please let us know if you are interested in one.

Lucy just sat with this face on when I went to take pictures of her puppies. What would you guess she is thinking?

Hurray! We are expecting a litter of black and chocolate puppies very soon! I am so excited :) :)

Chavera Had Puppies!!!

On April 29 Chavera had 8 puppies! We have all three colors this time. There are 4 yellow females, 1 yellow male, 2 black females and 1 chocolate male!
The yellow male is already spoken for as well as at least one of the yellow females.
All the puppies seem to be doing extremely well and just keep growing!

Chavera with her 2 day old pups. Chavera was very worked up when she had her first puppy and would not settle down. My mother had the idea to put dirt into her whelping pen, we did that then with prayer and lullaby music, Chavera calmed down!

Mia and Buddy (Lavender and Kubota) are going to follow in their siblings footsteps and leave us in a few days.
Both of the puppies have nearly crate (or pen) trained themselves! Their life is spent sleeping, eating, being loved on and PLAYING!

Here they are in the flower garden. Later that day I heard them growling pretty loud so I went to see what was going on. One puppy was on one side of the lattice while the other was on the other, both bouncing and barking, trying to get to eachother! It was quite cute.

I am so sorry that it has taken so long to get these pictures posted (I feel like I keep starting posts with those words!). We have been staying extremely busy with taking care of the puppies, out-of-town guests, and getting ready for a trip.

Chavera Is Expecting!

Puppy Update 5-6 weeks

This should be the last post with all the puppies in it, so I have put quite a few pictures of each one here. All the pups LOVE being outside and running about. The puppies like to play and are affectionate, each puppy has his or her own cute way of expressing themselves, they are so fun to be around! The puppies are 6 weeks today.

Kubota is the only available puppy, look at his adorable face! His mother is small and he seems to favor her in size and also has her thicker, softer hair. He is extremely alert and responsive, we enjoy carrying him around with us.

"I am small, but I'll make up for it in love."

Lilac is the only puppy who still has a red nose. I always thought Lucy (the mother) had a black nose but recently someone pointed out it was only dark red! Maybe Lilac's will look like hers.

I'm sorry ... I just realized that it had been almost two weeks since I last posted pictures. Life has been kind of busy lately!

This is Espresso.

I know this isn't the best picture of him, but I thought it was pretty the way the sun was shining on him!

I hope to get a video or two sometime soon. They are just now starting to eat and drink, but they're really not interested in the puppy chow! I guess they prefer to nurse. We took them all to the vet yesterday, and they all checked out well ... he said they all were good and healthy.

4 Weeks Old, Almost 5

[Oooops! Somehow, this post got stuck in draft ... we thought we had posted it, and just found out that we didn't! Sorry!)

The puppies are doing very good and have now been vet checked. All the puppies are quite playful and will be ready to go home April 17.

The puppies are so cute! Although the pups do not run around yet, they do like to chew on each other and snuggle. We finally have collars and temporary names picked out.

Orange Collar is Lilac, Black Collar is Agco, Green Collar (right below him) is John Deer, Blue Collar is Kubota, Pink Collar is Lily, and Red Collar is Lavender.

This is Lily, she is the smallest girl, and already has a home to go to in Nashville.

I'm not sure how much she liked the trampoline.

This is Lavender, who is going to move up to Massachusetts.

Meet Lilac! Playful, can-be vocal and likes to curl up with me sometimes. Lilac is big girl and is still available.

This is Kubota, he is quite a bit smaller than the rest of his siblings, very calm and so snuggly. He is still available and probably my favorite pup.

He is so alert!

Abi is just in from feeding the dogs and has a guest!

Here is Agco who likes to play. I just asked my brother "what does Agco like to do?" and he said "sleep and be fat!" but that is not the case all the time! He is still available too.

And last but not least, John Deer the biggest in the litter, going to Thompson Station.

Chocs and Blacks ... Day Seventeen!

At last, I am posting some pictures of these cute puppies :) We only have six left, as we lost four of them to what the vet thinks was a virus that is fatal to puppies under 3 or 4 weeks of age. We were very sad and disappointed about that, but are thankful that the remaining pups are healthy and active.

Some of the puppies eyes are not fully opened, and they most likely will not stay blue.

I'm not sure which puppy this is ... I just walked out to the pen, and saw it laying there so cute!

Falling asleep ...

This is the smaller of the two chocolate females ... I am calling her Latte (a name that was suggested by someone who got a chocolate from Chaya's last litter - thanks Amanda!)

She is a precious little puppy.

Latte will be joining a family in Cleveland TN.

This is Truffle ... she is the largest puppy in the whole litter!

Gotta love the little tongue :)

Truffle's new home will be in Murfreesboro TN - not too far from us!

Mousse is the largest of the two chocolate males!

We used the name Mousse for a puppy in Chaya's last litter, and he looked just like this one!

Mousse will be going either to Murfreesboro or Carthage TN ... we'll know for sure sometime next week :)

And this is Mocha (yes, we used this name last time too, but when you think of chocolate ... mocha just seems to follow!)

He is a little smaller than his brother.

Such a sweet fellow!

We are calling this puppy Angus ... as in, Black Angus!

He wasn't in picture mood this afternoon!

And Espresso preferred to sleep rather than take pictures too!

When we made him wake up, he kept yawning ...

... and sticking out his tongue!

Either Espresso or Angus will be joining a family in Pleasant View TN ... their new family will need to decide which one they want!

Lucy's Puppies Update Pictures

Here are some pictures taken over the last couple days. The puppies eyes have just opened! Moving around is still quite slow though :). It is hard to tell all of the puppies apart right now ... we have big boy, big girl, little guy, smaller girl ... ! We should be picking out names and have the puppy collars soon.
Some of the puppies noses look partly red; that is because they are in the process of changing, all of them should be black soon. Also, the blue eyes will most likely be changing too.

All the pups experiencing the fresh air and grass with Sam and Lydia. "Bub" (the temporary name given to our biggest boy by Lydia and Sam, in honor of a character in the farm game they have been playing for awhile now) on the left, and the biggest girl. Lucy girl.

If Lydia is growing out of her tricycle, is the puppy is growing into it??

Lucy's Puppies Are Here!

Last Friday (March 4th) we were blessed to watch Lucy give birth to her puppies! We now have 6 beautiful white puppies - 3 males and 3 females.

All the puppies are doing well. They are very chubby except for one male who is a little smaller than the others. He is feisty though, and seems to be constantly eating, so I imagine he will be putting on weight very soon.

Here are some pictures taken during the last few days. Time has flown, and it is hard belive these puppies are a week old now. I'm sorry for the delay in posting pictures.

Black and Chocolate Pups - Day One!

Hello Everyone!

The puppies are here!! On Tuesday night, I went to bed late and had just fallen asleep, when my siblings came hurrying to wake me up, saying; "Chaya had her puppies!" I was quite surprised. Her due date was the 12th, and it was the 8th. She usually goes several days early, but she hadn't seemed to be in active labor that afternoon. I guess it came fast :)

There are six chocolates - three males and three females, and four blacks - three males and one female. At this point, it looks like all of the chocolates are reserved (except one male), and the black female is reserved as well. The three black males are still available right now.

Here are some pictures that were taken yesterday.

Even when they are not nursing, they want to snuggle up to her.

This is the little female - her name is going to be Layla.

Layla will be going home with a couple who got the only black female in Chaya's first litter. Her name is Lola, and she is almost two years old.

I think it's really cute ... "Lola and Layla" :) :)

Two Upcoming Litters!

We are expecting two Labrador litters very shortly!

Lucy is due around March 6th. Boaz is the father of the litter, and all of the puppies will be white.

Chaya is due around March 12th. Boaz is also the father, and we are expecting black and chocolate puppies. (This picture was taken right after she tried to eat snow!)

If you are interested in one of the puppies from either of these litters, please contact me to be put on the waiting list.

Bye-Bye Puppies!

We said goodbye to our last Lab puppy this afternoon. This litter had a lot of "firsts" for us (first time to have a tri-color litter, first time to have to bottle-feed pups, etc), but we enjoyed it as always. We are glad that all of the puppies have gone to good homes, and we hope that they will be a blessing to their new owners, just as our dogs have been to us.

As for future litters, it looks like Lucy is coming into heat, which would mean a litter of white puppies around the first part of March. Chaya is also due to come into heat anytime now, so we should be having another litter of chocolate and black puppies in several months. If you are interested in one of our future puppies, please contact me to be put on the waiting list.

This is Ol' Yeller. He has a cuddly, loyal personality, and is playful.

This is Arizona - our only yellow female available. She is frisky! We are wondering if her eyes will stay blue.

Arkansas ... she is an enjoyable, friendly puppy.

This is Georgia. She is calm and affectionate.

Day Thirty Three/Thirty Four ... Some More Pictures!

Sorry for the delay in getting these posted - we took them on Wednesday and Thursday. All of the puppies are doing well, and getting more active and playful.

These are the available puppies.

Here is Ol' Yeller. He has a red nose, just like his daddy :)

This is Arizona. Several weeks back, the mother dog snapped at her, and she ended up getting an abscess on the top of her head. We took her to the vet, and he had to lance and drain it. She is doing all better now, but they had to shave the top of her head, and so she still looks a little funny. Her hair is growing back nicely though, and should be looking normal soon.

Here is Virginia. She is the biggest black female puppy, and she reminds me of a teddy bear :)

Here is Arkansas. She and Georgia are the middle-sized puppies.

Carolina will be going to a new home in South Carolina.

Tennessee will be going to a new home in Kentucky (maybe we should have named her Kentucky, huh?)
